I am finishing my 5th season with my current irons. I believe I am hitting them as good as when they were new, but I have this itch to buy a new set. I think it is human nature, or maybe just my nature that something new will help me shave some more strokes off my game. Perhaps it would just be a mental confidence of having new irons.
Have there been improvements in irons or shafts in the last 5 years that would make it advantageous to buy new Irons?
I will of course get them from TGGS with the NEW TGGS GRIPS. I thought about just getting the new grips for my old irons, but when you think about the cost of the grips, and time to put them on, and the current age of my irons, why not go with the new irons?
Sorry for the rambling but just wondering what you guys think, and how often you upgrade your irons.

Ray, Your old irons are probably holding you back a bit. When you get new irons from Tim, make sure the lie is right for your swing. What a difference it makes. I ordered the Cobra FP's from Tim and they are 2 degrees flat and perfect for my swing. Great irons. I think you can order a mixed set which include hybrids etc. also. There are some great clubs out there and Grafite shafts make it a lot easier on my old bones too. Sorry for the ramble but do get new clubs, you are ready. HeyMoe |

| Thanks Ed for the advice. Rustyred, I have Cobra SSI Irons, graphite shafts. I think I will stick with Cobra products, as I have had good luck with them, and wouldn't know what else to try. |

The most popular sets (this year) for the player who wants playability and forgiveness are:
1. Adams A3 and A3 OS 2. Cobra FP irons 3. Callaway X-20 4. Callaway Big Bertha 5. Ping (wider sole) irons
Key is to find a club you like and MAKE SURE we get it fit to your specs. Of course - would recommend our grips.

I too have Cobra SSi's from TGGS. Do what ever Todd/Tim recommend. You can't go wrong. Ed |
