(Graves Golf),

I have been meaning to send you this update for quite a while I know you asked me to keep you updated. Finally, at the end of my 2nd golf season since my (2) day lessons in April 2008…..

I had to send this email.

Last year I made the trip to Oklahoma City as skeptical as anyone could have been about drastically changing their golf swing … I kept thinking I could fix it conventionally.

I came back to Wisconsin and put my mind to try and learn this swing and stick with it. I spent basically all of April 2008 and ½ of May 2008 just practicing and try to learn the fundamentals of this swing.

I started this process by hitting rock bottom shooting 102 and thinking I have had enough of this game I can’t deal with it any longer. I was so frustrated I wanted to basically give up the one sport I can still play. My handicap when I started this process was easily a 16 but capable of ballooning to a 20 no problem.

After dedicating the practice time that Todd stated it would take to make a swing change I started to play in mid May 2008….. my 1st score out was a 94 and boy was it a struggle…..I remember thinking wow I am not doing any better. However, I kept working and all of sudden a couple 85’s ….. by mid June I shot a 81 !!! My lowest score ever…. And thinking boy I left a couple strokes on the course that day….. Finally, July 2nd ,2008 the break through score a 77 !!! Went on to shoot a total of 3 scores in the 70’s in 2008 . My handicap dropped from a 16 to a solid 11 and starting to feel good about my game. People started to take notice and they started to ask ?’s about how different my swing looks but couldn’t believe how crisply my shots were being hit!!!

1st Season Huge Success ….

Now the reason I am writing this email … my 2009 Golf Season.

Since, I live in Wisconsin you can imagine my golf season ends in November and doesn’t start until April leaving me almost 6 months of blah!!!!

Well this past Winter 2008/09 I took the opportunity to really key in on my fundamentals. I will be the 1st to admit that Todd you would probably want to make changes to my golf swing as I am not a perfect student but I will tell you I use most of your principles in my golf swing. The PVC drill for me has been a real breakthrough drill for me…. When I start to get out of whack…I go right back to it and sure enough the next range session I am back or at least close to it.

I started this 2009 golf season very optimistic but with a totally different agenda. Feeling pretty good about my irons and woods .. .I focused on my game from 100 yards and in and boy I think it made the difference. I used to dread the 80 yard wedge shot but now I crave it … Once again, my swing has evolved into a version of yours but boy my roots and success go back to your lessons!

Let me wrap this thing up ….

My home course is a 72.3 / 137 slope – 6750 yards … so by no means a push over course. Actually it is rated the #6 course in the state.

42 rounds played this golf season

13 rounds in the 70’s

1 round of 70 on my home course Par 72

Year End Course Handicap- 7

Yes … I can now say I am a single digit handicap golfer. I will never forget you telling me in our sessions.... “Troy there is no reason with your athletic ability you shouldn’t be breaking 80 on a regular basis”

I am not sure how much lower I can go but I am going to try. I think a 5 is possible if I can really hone in my driver.

I just wanted to take time to recognize the lessons you gave me last spring and the video lessons you went over with me. Best thing is I have 2 of my friends who used to kill me on the course watching your DVD’s and starting to Swing like Moe! I told them I will get them the basics but you need to go to a school and work with Todd.

BTW I love that Board … I just bought one and can’t wait to get out on the range with it .. Awesome training aid for guys that want to grove in the right stance and ball position.

Thanks Again and Good Luck,

Troy Wolf

To Tim -- many thanks for posting this letter from Troy. This gives me hope. In just the last 2 weeks since stumbling across your web site, and just swinging clubs in my basement, I have seen a very positive change to my ball striking. And this is before viewing any of your videos (I did order "Total Game Overview" yesterday). I still have some muffed shots, but not like I used to. Fortunately, there are a few driving ranges near me with heated stalls and a Golf Dome near my office. I may not achieve Troy's results. But I look forward to breaking 100 many times in 2010.

I can't believe how much I have learned from and been encouraged by this Forum!

Have been wanting to post about this for several weeks. I paid hundreds of dollars for golf lessons within a 12 month period (conventional golf). Way too much. I went to the range on the average of 2 to 3 times a week for a full year. I took several lessons from NG and paid even more money. I STRUGGLED to score as low as 100. Most of the time, I would score between 105 to 120. Then I found GCA. I bought the 7 principles and some of their other dvds. I took a their BYGC about 4 or 5 years ago in Oklahoma during the hottest part of the summer. I took their first couples school in Florida a few years back. I qualified for that school cuz I am as big as two people.

I have been to driving range perhaps 5 times in since those schools. I ended up buying a big bucket of balls (85) and used perhaps as many as 50. I drill at home perhaps as many as 15 times per year for about 20 minutes.

If I had the money, I would take more of the BYGC courses because I had so much fun in both schools. I truly saw them as an adult version of Disneyland. Yes, I learned a lot. I am a member of the knowmoe site. I view and read material on board. I own training cub 6i and training club driver. I own the alignment and stance board.

What is my game like? Well, I get out about 15 times per spring and summer. I play golf on vacations in October and March. I always win money from the group I golf with during spring, summer and vacations.

I regularly shoot 90, 91, to 94. I truly believe that I could score much better if I took the game seriously and practiced like Todd and Tim advocate. However, I am retired and I truly do have many other interests.

Without GCA, I would not be able to play as I am playing. I am satisfied with my game. I have fun with it. When I do have a bad shot, I have a very educated guess as to what I did and what I need to do to correct it. I have great fun playing the game and I will be in Palm Springs again for 3 weeks in February and March. That first week I will play 27 holes a day and love every minute of it. In fact, I have a pretty good hunch I will break 90 while there again. I have broken 90 4 times in past 4 years and it is always about the 4th day of golfing at Palm Springs. If anyone knows about golfing in Palm Springs Cimmaron Golf Resort, you know that the high winds are unbelievable. I golf thru those too.

GCA will teach you what you need.
