I played to a 14 handicap seven years ago using Natural Golf and I haven't been there for five long years. I had back surgery in the fall of 2006 and started playing again after pretty much a two year layoff. I am now mired in triple digits even though my short game is good. I played last week and scored a 108. On the back nine, in desperation, I tried the Natural Golf swing as I remembered it and scored a 49 which was encouraging. My biggest problem for the last four years is that I've somehow modified my swing to protect my back and am hooking drives and fairway shots low and left.

Over the last seven years I've ordered two NG videos and attended a Big Grip Golf session with Tom Sanders after purchasing his videos. The same old story holds true in that my shots hit with woods are generally hooked low and left. Iron shots with the 6 iron through a lob wedge are pretty good using a medicus type swing. A lot of times drives off the tee bounce about six inches in front of where the ball is teed. Fairway wood shots they almost never seem to get up in the air sufficiently. I pretty much go around the course hitting a six iron if I want to have a chance to break a 100. How sad is that?

The back nine NG experience encouraged me enough to dive back into a Single Axis swing again. I know that personal instruction would be the best solution but I'd have to get a divorce in order to schedule a school. I love golf but.... I just ordered your beginning DVD as an alternative. Any suggestions in the meantime would be greatly appreciated.

Terry

The hooks indicate a strong lead hand position. It sounds like you need to check your lead hand grip position and weaken it to get the clubface square. This is the first place I would check.
