Tim -- sometime ago, I purchased the "Little Moe, A Golf Swing for Life" instructional DVD. The copy I have is labeled "copyright 2004." Is this the latest version of this DVD? I want to start working with the GGA swing principles, hopefully this DVD will get me started down the correct path, and I want to start with the latest information.

Thanks, Allen

Yes, this is our core instruction and to be honest, I believe a MUST for anyone interested in learning our swing (to swing like Moe). It will answer questions/issues about grip, set up, backswing, top of swing, leverage angles, facing ball at impact, release, short game (putting, chipping, pitching, sand play), on course instruction like side hill lies, etc.. and much much more.

We produced in 2004 - have enhanced, etc.. since, but still copyrighted from 2004. You have the latest version.

Allen,

That is the correct DVD. No changes, other than exterior, have been made to that DVD.

It's a good place to get started. If you want more advanced, or detailed, information, then Volumes 1 & 2 of the 7 Principles series would complement the Little Moe Swing for Life well.

A side note. I've played golf for a lot of years, and continue to struggle using a CG golf swing. I dabbled with the NG swing a few years ago, with little success. A couple of years ago, I stumbled onto the GAA website, and have been following this forum since. I'm still playing with the CG swing, but have stalled with my game improvement. I just have been hesitant to switch golf systems, but now I'm ready to try a single-axis swing in hopes of becoming a better golfer. I know there have been a lot of successes using the GAA system. Hopefully, I'll also be a success. I recently had a total knee replacement, and am now able to start practicing and playing golf again. Now's a good time to make some changes in my approach to the golf swing.

Allen,

As you'll see in other posts from GGA alumni, one of the keys to success with this swing is to commit to the swing. Once you give yourself over to trying everything you can to match Moe as the model, your progress has a great chance of being a straight line -- better every year. The guys who dabbled and adapt parts of the swing but not all of it, find issues. I think the most important common thread of the 10 alumni at the BYGC for alumni was that we were all fully committed. Some were closer to the model than others, but all were committed to matching Moe.

Dive into this swing change head first and you'll be on your way toward becoming a better golfer.

Keep everyone posted on your progress.

Garb -

be careful! Once you're a member of Graves Nation, it's kind of addictive!

If you ever have time to go through the school testimonials, or through older chat room subjects, you'll find PLENTY of company, i.e. CG gys who never got any better, but switched to NG with very limited success, and then started improving after Todd and Tim. My handicap never really came down much, or very consistently, until I stumbled onto this web site.

One tip I would offer is this - every, single, teeny, detail on the Graves' instructional material is pertinent and important. Don't gloss over anything. And remember that it's all additive - you can't succeed at step two if haven't mastered step one, you can't succed at step 3 until steps one and two are mastered, etc. I used to make the mistake of trying to work on everything at once. That method doesn't work any better in Graves golf than it does for any other method. This winter I swore to take it one step at a time, and guess what? When I'm taping my swing, I see that I'm generally on plane and my over the top move has just about disappeared.

the only other tip I can think of (besides "Hey - have fun!") is this - grip, grip, grip, set-up, set-up, set-up.
