New Grip "TGC" Video on Website

We have put a new Video Clip about Moe's "Feeling of Greatness" Grip on our website. The clip is close to 20 minutes long and talks about the proper grip and the reason for the Training Grip Club for Moe's single axis swing - narrated by Todd.

You can see the clip at: http://swinglikemoe.com/index.php?customernumber=248948923246794&pr=Training_Grip_And_Club

- or - you can go to www.swinglikemoe.com , click on Products tab on left side of home page, then click on the "Feeling of Greatness Training Grip and Club" Banner.

(If you are getting background noise - besides the music on video clip and Todd talking - it is the video on the homepage playing. Return to the home page and click the home page video clip off.)

Please let us know if you have any questions or comments about the video clip.

GGA & NG Alliance

After we announced the "alliance" (some of our students coined this term... like it...), we received quite a few questions / comments about it. Wanted to answer a few of the questions and "clear the air" a little...

1. As hopefully everyone understands, Todd and myself (and our staff) are in the business to "Spread the Word" of Moe's Genius - his single axis swing and to teach "all those that will listen". We absolutely believe without a doubt it is the most effective, efficient and consistent golf swing and by far - easier on the body than "conventional" swings.

2. We are always willing and happy to help those who like us, want to "Spread the Word of Moe".... as long as they keep "true to his methodology".

3. We believe the new ownership of NG is putting out a strong effort to get back to teaching Moe's methodology. They have asked for our assistance and we are willing to work with them in this undertaking.

4. Very little will change at the GGA (besides us getting busier, etc..). We will still teach as we do now, still teach the same schools/ camps, etc.. as we do now, still sell all different manufacturers clubs (as we do now), still travel to many different locations across the US, etc..

5. We will offer NG equipment as an option to our customers. There will be demo equipment at our schools (along side Callaway, Titleist/Cobra, Adams, Ping, etc..). NG has told us they will be fitting their clubs to our specifications. NG equipment will be another option for our customers. Remember, you pick the club you like (whichever manufacturer - or something you already have in your bag) - we will make sure it fits you for your prefect single axis swing. You fight the club, you fight your swing..... your clubs fit you - now you have something to work with...

Anyway - there is still much to be worked out. We are excited in our "new adventure" and are hoping everyone understands that we only want to help those who are willing to "Spread the Word of Moe"... as long as they understand it is about the swing and teaching the swing.....

I will keep everyone up to date on any new "news"..

Again, We would love to hear anyone's and everyone's comments.... please feel free to email myself at timg@swinglikemoe.com or timkgraves@aol.com

PRACTICE TIP:

A Mistake-Proof Golf Swing - The Swing of the Future - Part 2
by Todd Graves:

It's All in the Handle!!

Picture for a moment Moe's golf swing: his AIM position, the backswing, the downswing, impact, release and finish. Now, use your imagination and erase Moe out of your picture so that the only thing you see is the golf club, moving in space. So, let me ask you this question:

What moved the golf club?

Of course you would say Moe's hands. Then you might say that his arms are also moving his hands and his shoulders, etc. My point is that the first think you notice is that it is Moe's hands that moved the handle of the golf club.

In the many conversations I had with Moe about this swing technique, Moe talked about and demonstrated the movement of the handle of the golf club. You can see in pictures, Moe showed me how he related the movement of the club to the movement of the handle and positions of how the handle leads the club head.

To see many of these pictures please go to: http://swinglikemoe.com/index.php?customernumber=248948923246794&pr=Online_Instruction&=SID
or www.swinglikemoe.com and click ONLINE INSTRUCTION

As I discussed in the previous E-tip (September Update #69B) - the importance of the address and AIM position which establish the mistake-proof address and backswing, this article will continue the teaching to help you make a mistake proof downswing.

Start with the AIM

The AIM and backswing position was a movement of the hands and arms into an on-plane position. But more importantly, what was created was a relationship to the handle of the golf club. What I mean by relationship to the golf club is:

At the AIM position, the handle of the golf club points at the pivot point, the shaft aligns with the lead arm and the club is well behind the golf ball. This position establishes a relationship. It is the "ROD" position that Moe Norman talked about.

See picture: http://swinglikemoe.com/index.php?customernumber=248948923246794&pr=Online_Instruction&curPhoto=1&curAlbum=Producing Clubhead Speed

&

http://swinglikemoe.com/index.php?customernumber=248948923246794&pr=Online_Instruction&curPhoto=6&curAlbum=Key Positions Of Moe Norman's Golf Swing

From the Rod position, and the positions discussed in the previous E-tip, you establish a Single Plane position where there is only one place to go with the club. (Moe even discussed this movement by placing a coin on the ground and demonstrating how the club moved over the coin.)

Create WIDTH

This movement from AIM into the backswing is the ideal movement of the handle. With a correct hand hinge, the club moves into a planed position. What is even more important is that this "planed" position establishes the correct handle position. I call this positions "WIDTH" which is a term I use to describe the handle relationship to the body.

This distance or "width" is nothing more than the pivot point moved into the backswing. In other words, to clarify this concept:

YOU NEVER LOSE RELATIONSHIP TO THE HANDLE FOR THE ENTIRE SWING.

So why is this so critical?

Because the most important part of becoming a good, if not great, ball striker is where the handle is at impact. If you can keep the handle in the correct position during the entire golf swing, you can return it to the impact consistently.

The WIDE position is a determining factor for establishing the correct on plane position and places the handle into the ideal position to downswing into impact.

The downswing is simply moving the hands and arms, which are hinged correctly, directly toward the golf ball.

Since the correct handle relationship has been established and maintained throughout the AIM and WIDTH, you now move that into impact.

Stabilize the Lower Body

So what is the lower body doing the entire time?

Stabilizing or as Moe says, it is "centerized".

Here is the secret to the lower body making the movement mistake-proof. Rotate as much as you want. Yes, that is what I said: Rotate your hips as much as you want, but, here is the secret - Keep you lead knee flexed and your trail foot on the ground. Try it...

If you keep your lead knee flexed and trail foot down, you can only rotate so far. If you combine this rotation with the WIDTH in the downswing, you find one incredible thing:

POWER!!

This handle movement and WIDTH establishes a mistake-proof handle movement directly into impact. The rotation of the body allows an incredibly fast stable body for maximum movement. And the greatest thing about AIM, WIDTH, and STABILITY:

You are now feeling Moe's "Feeling of Greatness".

To see pictures of these critical areas please go to: http://swinglikemoe.com/index.php?customernumber=248948923246794&pr=Online_Instruction&=SID - change album to "Key Position's of Moe's Swing"

As with all our instructional products, you can learn these techniques and the many ways to practice to reach your Swing Like Moe potential. Let us know how we can help you achieve your greatness.

Stay tuned in the next E-tip with will discuss some Width and Stabilization practice drills. Until then, get to work on your AIM.

Again, if you would like to see what we believe is your "Path to a Great Golf Game" - please go to:

Good Luck

Remember - Always Practice with a Purpose!!

"Moeisms"

Moe Norman:

When asked what he felt at impact (about stabilization), Moe said, "I feel centerized."

Please feel free to comment on this or email any of your favorite "Moeism's" to us if you'd like to share with others....

CLUB TALK

This time of year, many club companies start to release their new product lines. When we get information, we'll pass along to you...

The new Adams A3 OS is out. This line replaces the A2 OS, which was one of the top rated "combo" sets of 2006/2007. It contains within one set both hybrids (long iron replacements), transitional clubs and irons.

This is a particularly good set for those with the following characteristics:

1. Have hard time hitting mid to long irons (getting height and distance).

2. Take a limited to no divot.

3. Have mid to low swing speeds (hit driver 250 yards or less, 6 iron 160 or less, 9 iron 120 or less) - Driver 90 mph or less.

4. Those that want forgiveness in their irons and want ease in getting ball off the ground.

This set is a great set because it covers everything between a 3 wood and your putter.... (if you include the wedges).

To see more please go to: http://www.adamsgolf.com/ir_idea_a3OS.htm

The A2 OS was BY FAR one of the most popular sets we sold - GREAT reviews - A3 OS is scheduled to be even better.

Please let us know if you have additional questions about these or any other clubs.
Please feel free to call or email anytime.

Remember - the key to a good club is one that you like - and one that fits your single axis swing - it MUST be custom fit to your individual specifications. To see more please go to our Free Club Fitting on our website.
