Todd,
Saw a video with Moe hitting balls and you watching. He was talking about you both being "too much on top of yourselves" during the swing. He had apparently changed something in his swing after a surgery and was hitting the ball 10 to 20 yards longer than he ever had???
Can you elaborate on what he was talking about??
Thanks

When I spent time with Moe, he was always "working" on something or had a new "thought" about his move. One time he talked about a "karate" move, another about being more "stylish" and another time the talked about being more "level". Of course, I would gather video evidence of those sessions and could see no apparent changes in his technique however, he was obviously feeling or seeing things a bit differently personally.
Also, for every time he said he was hitting it 20 yards further, he should have been hitting it 1000 yards.
Moe felt different things when he practiced. He tried different things when others influenced him to do so. This is what he was talking about in that situation - he had a discussion with someone who told him something about his swing and he was trying to incorporate that into his swing. In this situation, he was talking about being too much up and down in the swing vs. being more back and behind the ball. ( Just for your information, a month before this video, he was teaching me to be more up and down with the shoulders).
In any case, not to be confused by many things Moe said, study his fundamental motion and the little things that Moe says really are not that relevant if the fundamentals are there.

Reason I asked was that his swing looked the same to me in that video as all the rest I have seen. Thanks for the info Todd. I noticed you were the only one in the video being quiet and really watching, Ken and the others were asking questions you just observed. He (Moe) really seemed to like you, I sensed a rapport with you and he that the others did not have. Seemed to me that you really cared about him not just what you could take from his swing.

Yes. I miss the days of watching Moe. He was very special both as a golfer and as a person.
