Todd, I posted this in the instruction section because I wanted you to see it as soon as possible.

There is a thread about Moe Norman on the Golf Channel Discussion board and I think it needs your help. There are a few errors in what was said, about Natural Golf and things Moe said. Your expertise and knowledge of him would be a great hit. Also it would be a good time to plug the movie.

Just thought you would like to know.

Okay guys - calling in the troops....

Need some help here -

Here is the link on the Golf Channel discussion board:

http://www.thegolfchannel.com/golf-forum/moe-norman-reduxamazing-168036/1/?go=1&dz=4F622975-5CBF-4FC9-B12D-FD22A1219072

Do us a BIG favor - would ANY and ALL interested in responding please do... tell them what you know, where you learned it, who we are, etc...

Here is the problem - we have replied many times on boards like this (and this one) and every time it comes off as advertising. In fact, I think the Golf Channel Discussion board pulled one post because they accused us of advertising.

But - if you (our students, followers, customers, Moe Norman supporters) make the comments, post the links, etc.. it won't be advertising...... or at least looked upon that way.

Please let me know what you think,

Thanks for the help everyone,

I looked at the discussion thread and I though it was very complimentary to Moe and his swing. The folks participating seem genuinely fascinated with him. I would suggest that you or Todd participate and tell a Moe story (it is what they want to hear) and them give a link to a piece of Moe video. Should be good PR!

I put in the good word and most importantly posted the link to your web page. If I had said what I think they would not have posted my message. How all you guys can be so focused on making average people, who you don't know and may never meet, better at golf, often times going over and over the same things is amazing, professional and a mark of your dedication to Moe and to his students.

Have left that discussion - as always turned into poster(s) accusing us of advertising. So done over there....

But I do have a question for anyone interested in answering?

How would you recommend we post on discussions like that??? Is there something I'm missing???

I'm going to give you an example....

A post is started on another discussion board about Titleist and it's wedges.

Wally Uhlein (CEO of Titleist) somehow gets wind of it and decides to comment.

He wants them to understand the wedges, know the story behind the wedge, why the wedge was created, the engineering behind the wedge, etc... What is he going to do????

Do you think he will write and write and write about that - no way. He will send them to a website or somewhere that is already created to explain details about his wedge. And I can guarantee somewhere on that site you will have th opportunity to purchase the wedge....

Is that advertising???? Or giving the best information he has about the wedge?

I feel we do the same with and about Moe. But, that is my opinion.... would love to hear other's opinions about this.... you guys read discussion boards, commment, etc...

If you don't want to comment "publicly" please feel free to email me.

Thanks for you help/opinions,

Tim

Everyone comes to a discussion board with a point of view. If one is open about who is commenting, and states an opinion, I would say the board should accept that. It is the people who set up fake fronts to claim they do not have a interest that should be banned or at least flagged on a discussion board. If I post an opinion about Graves Golf, I say that I am a student. If was was also on staff and omitted that fact, it would be proper to call me out. If I was the paid to produce PR for Grave Golf, that should be flagged as well. If I was Tim Graves, and said I was Tim Graves, I would think that was being open enough. You run a company dedicated to teaching Moe's swing. You offer a lot of stuff about Moe's swing that is free like this board. It is your business and you teach his swing at schools and video and more and get paid to do so. Say that and you've been straight and not "advertised" for services.

One other note, with Google and such, you need not direct people to a commercial website for them to find your commercial site. The name of the business will usually do it. May seem less promotional is the link is to the free sites like this one or even left off.

Good points -

But that leads to another point..... in the golf channel discussion I never pointed them to moenormangolf.com or swinglikemoe.com specifically - only videos, etc.. on those sites.

But in particular - youtube videos talking about the hips, Moe, etc.. on those videos we have put our website and G for the reason they don't get ripped off.

We were burned by that.... the video we produced that everyone saw for the first time at the Moe Memorial (the one that talks about the millions of golfers that quit, etc..) has a lot about Moe and Todd in the middle and then ends with our promotion information - that video we produced, etc.. put on youtube and someone "ripped it off" by using on their information (they took the first 2/3s and deleted the promotion about the GGA). So, to protect our brand, logo, image, we feel it is necessary to put either our logo or website, etc.. embedded on what we produce and/or own.

That is EXACTLY why all the pictures on the moenorman.org website have the "watercolored" (think that is what you call it) brand on them.... so they can't be "ripped off".

Thanks for your response/opinion

GREATLY appreciated - love to hear more....

Things are going from nice to nasty to nice over there on the Golf Channel Board. I'm glad this board is a place where discussions are pleasant and helpful. Passion does not need to be angry passion.

Tim, you are staying professional. Don't get suckered into a knife fight with one negative poster. You do not need to answer his smears. Easier for me to say.

There is a lot of good stuff about Moe being discussed on the board. Not much new for those of us here, but nice to see others are discovering the man. What is the world will happen if the movie is a real hit?

Tim,
Ditto on what Russ said. The main audience on that forum are not stupid, they see right through the nasty one.

I thought the post about this being the longest running thread ever on the Golf Channel forum was very cool. Moe is drawing an audience of his own.

Wow

I just went through all 215 posts on the GC discussion board. Pretty interesting. Didn't know about some the Moe stories. It's nice to know there are others out there who show Moe respect and appreciate his genius.

Tim and Todd,

Kudos for your posts. You have tremendous patience and passion. It's too bad there were one or two bad apples, but everyone else posting was open and IMHO took what you had to contribute in the right spirit.

appreciatively, Jim
