Posted - 04/01/2008 : 13:26:23 Todd or Tim, I finally feel as though I have solved the puzzle. My shots lately have been straight and powerful. Now , I can focus on playing the game not playing my swing. When the ball goes where you want it to it feels as though you have advanced to another level of "Donkey Kong". Now, the Bad News.... I have battled pre-shot trigger demons for years. At one time we were talking Sergio level stuff. The situation has improved drastically since I switched to the SA swing. However, I still have a tendency to freeze over the ball occasionally. When I do, I can feel my trail forearm tense up and my trail hand pronate slightly This of course is a recipe for inconsistency. I have watched Moe and tried to emulate his pre-shot routine but frankly I don't know if I'll ever be able to pull the trigger that quickly. Here is my question. What do you use mentally for your trigger. What, literally, do you say to yourself in the pre-shot and when you pull the trigger? I need to slay the Dragon. Thanks, RangeRat

Posted - 04/03/2008 : 04:02:52 The problem you face is that what we are discussing is that you mentally change something that will eventually be unconscious. In other words, eventually, you will pull the trigger without thinking about it so for now, if I were you, I would put you on the clock. In other words, I would start timing how long it takes you to actually hit the ball. I would just start doing it quickly no matter the results. Eventually, you will learn to pull the trigger quickly.
When I stand over a golf ball I actually look at the face of the golf club and then the target and then the face of the golf club. As i do this, I am aligning the clubface. Once aligned, I swing. This is my normal sequence.
