I have some serious issues with pitching. Tim has mentioned countless times "soft" hands and/or loose grip. The issue for me is that when I try to accelerate, my grip gets too tight and if I concentrate on soft hands, I stop accelerating.
How do I achieve soft hands while ensuring the acceleration on the downswing?

Acceleration is not done with the hands, it is done with the arms, etc.. Gripping the club tighter will only hinder the wrists and forearms which will decrease the speed.
Slowly work on getting faster with the soft hands... and work on seperating the speed of the arms and the tightness of the hands.
