Are there any motels that are real close to Eagle Creek Golf Course?
Is anyone going to play the day before or the day after the tourny?

I was there for the camp a couple of weeks ago. As far as I could tell, there is nothing really close. I stayed at the Amerisuites Northeast which was 15 - 20 minutes away. It is in a group of motels located next to each other close to Bennigans, TGIF, Hooters, Chili's, and Tony Romas. These motels are a couple of miles from the airport. If you go to Orlando Airport's web site, they have a link to motels in the area.

If anyone knows of anything closer, please let us know.

Also, L&M car rental has great cars at great rates, even a discount for Graves Golf. I think the discount code if you book on the internet is GGA. When I arrived, I walked towards the rental car desks. There were long lines at Avis, Budget, etc. There was a single person at the L&M desk, so it was a breeze.

Hope this helps.

Wells

Ray,
The hotels that Wells stayed in are the closest to the airport. So far that's the only drawback to Eagle Creek. However, that will be remedied in the future as there is a hotel, golf villas, and apartments being built at Eagle Creek. Until that time, though, the Amerisuites and the hotels in that area are the closest.

Ray,

Don't go cheap on the motel. I did and made a big mistake. The Amerisuites are nice, but book them in advance. One note as well, if the motel is on McCoy Road or Blossum road then don't book it. These motels are pretty run down. Where the Amerisuites is a much nicer area and for about 20-30 dollars more a night you will be glad you spent the money. I can not begin to tell you how many cock roaches I killed staying at the econolodge, ants, spiders, etc. Orlando is a large city and you will have to pay about (give or take that) 70/night. I know I won't do it again. I hope this helps.

Thanks for tips from those of you who have been there. Will keep watching for any news.
I live about 90 miles from Orlando and love the place.
There are tons of places of all kinds from worst to the best. I would be nice to all be a same place but that doesn't sound likely.
So far, sounds like Amerisuites for me but have not committed yet.

Wells,

Is that L&M car rental place at the airport?

I used Hertz last year only to find it was off-site. Major pain. Won't do that again.

Curt,
Yes, L&M is on-airport. They also have an off airport site, but you can pick your car up right at the airport and go from there.

We also have a GGA discount rate set up at the Raddisson at the Parkway, about 5 minutes from the toll road and approx. 25 minutes from Eaglecreek. This is the same Hotel as last year and is very close to everything Disney. Just go to our home page and click on the link on the Moe Memorial page for more info.

Timmy D,

Sure I will buy you breakfast, as long as it is one of those free continental breakfasts.

Right now I am considering staying at the Amerisuites. Stayed at the Radisson last year, thought I might try something different, and it will be a little closer to the golf course.

Carmen,

I am planning a 1 week vacation in February (Orlando area) and wondering if you know anything about the Comfort inn Universal, West Sand Lake Rd. or the Country inn and Suites, Apopka Vineland Rd.
Would hate to have the same experiance you had at the econo lodge.

Steve, Looks like I will be coming down without Denise this year. (ready for some serious golfing) if we can get out. I have not booked my flight yet, trying to figure out if I should book extra
day(s) on the front end of the weekend, or the back end. I wanted to see if anyone else is going to play any golf before or after the tourny.

Timmy, I have not checked into the rates at the Amerisuites, just trying to get feelers out right now as to where the majority of people are staying, etc.
