Well, I guess we missed the British open. So I will run a contest for the PGA, which starts next week.
Here are the rules. Please choose your picks for the top three finishers and rank them 1, 2, and 3. Then place your guess at the exact number the winner will finish either over or under par.
* * *
Example:
1. Fuzzy Briggs 2. Scott Renfroe 3. Tim Graves
The winner will finish 12 under par.
* * *
To add your entry into the contest simply reply to this post. If you want to participate you must have your entry posted by Thursday morning (8/12) by 7:00 AM.
The winner will be the person who picks the top finisher. If more than one of us pick the winner than we will go down the line (whose second player finished higher, etc). Hopefully we don’t have to go all the way to the tie breaker.
Up for grabs is the same Orlimar driver I offered last time. It seems Murph (he won the first contest) didn’t want it, so it goes in someone else’s collection after next weekend. By the way, I will pay for shipping to US and Canadian addresses. I can’t afford to send it overseas (sorry Gazza et. al.). If someone wins from overseas I will send you a picture of the driver by e-mail. (How lame is that! – hey this is a contest of a limited budget.) It’s all about bragging rights anyway.
I am giving better (earlier) notice this time, so everyone has a chance to participate.
Good Luck,
MoPars

1. Phil Mickelson 2. Tiger Woods 3. Vijay Singh
Phil will finish @ -7
Honestly, I don't have a clue, but Phil has played every major very well this year, and Tiger's game just with him 'yet'.
Good luck to all.

FYI:
Goosen, Price withdraw from PGA Aug. 9, 2004 GolfWeb Wire Services E-Mail To A Friend! HAVEN, Wis. -- U.S. Open champion Retief Goosen and three-time major winner Nick Price withdrew Sunday from the PGA Championship because of injury and family obligations.
Goosen was injured in a jet ski accident two weeks ago that also caused him to pull out of The INTERNATIONAL, although his managers expected him to be ready for Whistling Straits. Goosen, No. 6 in the world ranking after winning his second U.S. Open title two months ago at Shinnecock Hills, has played in 22 consecutive majors.
Price, who won the PGA Championship in 1992 at Bellerive and in 1994 at Southern Hills, is skipping the final major for the second straight time. He skipped last year to spend an extra week of vacation with his children. His oldest son, Gregory, turns 13 on Monday.
