Hi Everyone, Sad news from Moe's Home Town, Moe's friend and mentor has passed away at the age of 89.
Those of us that were at the Moe Memorial in Kitchener this year had the pleasure of hearing Nick talk about his life with Moe.
He told the story of Moe caddying for him in the Club Championship, and on one par 3 Nick was going to play a 7 iron, and Moe insisted he play a 6 and even said if Nick played the 7, he'd be carrying his own clubs the rest of the way.
Nick hit the 6 to a few feet and won by a shot!
Here is the story from the London Free Press on one of Moe's best friends, but more than that, a great amateur champion and a member of the Sports Hall of Fame.

That is sad news. Like others at the Moe Memorial I am glad I was able to hear Nick speak and share in at least a small part of Moe's story.

This is truely sad to hear. This makes this years Moe even more special. I had trouble with the link above, but found this link.

Mike:

This year's Moe tournament was special in so many ways. Glad I got the chance to hear Nick talk about Moe, and sad to hear that Nick's gone.

Yes Hick, It reminds me of the quote to the Great Byron Nelson's passing that surely can be applied to either Moe or Nick The Wedge....

""We can debate over which man was the greatest golfer, but we can never debate which golfer was the greatest man."

Minister Rick Atchley"

This is not meant to be a slight of Byron, but I believe a phrase that can be used in the same sentence as many a golfer's name. Nick and Moe surely apply as well.

Mike: an era of Golf greats are passing away much too soon...I'm glad I got to meet Nick and hear him talk @ the Memorial. So sad.I'll bet the first thing Moe says to Nick will be"...I told you it was a 6!" Hick
